Opening of Homs branch
Al-Ebdaa Microfinance Bank - Syria opened a new branch in Engineers Syndicate building in Al-Arbaeen district in Homs. The Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, Adel Muhammad Ali Ballah, stated that the opening of the new branch comes within the bank’s strategy to spread throughout the various Syrian governorates. To serve the largest possible segment, Especially since Homs is a large governorate with a wide segment of producers in need of the microfinance services provided by the bank. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bellah, pointed out that the bank provides multiple financial services, including: A number of sector projects, including craft, agricultural and commercial sectors, in addition to savings and deposit services for small producers. He also explained that within the bank’s plan is to provide special services for transfers to all producers and customers to all governorates, as well as cooperation and coordination with parties interested in training and capacity building in all sectors. In turn, the CEO of the bank, Mr. Adeeb Sharaf, stated that all segments that were unable to benefit from traditional financial services are a target for financing by the bank on easy and convenient terms. The loan ceiling currently amounts to 5 million Syrian pounds, and it is expected to reach ten million Syrian pounds at the beginning of next year, with annual interest rates of 18 percent. He explained that the bank has 12 branches in the Syrian governorates, and a special application will soon be launched allowing beneficiaries and those wishing to borrow to apply for lending from anywhere. . The opening of the bank branch was attended by the Governor of Homs, Engineer Nimir Makhlouf, and a number of economic and administrative figures in the governorate. The branch will begin its work soon, with a date that will be announced later.
